Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP R32 fault H20
Water pump abnormality
Heat pumpWhat it means
During startup and operation of cooling and heating, the rotation speed detected by the IPM of the water pump motor during water pump operation is used to determine abnormal water pump operation. Abnormal if feedback rotation is greater than 6,000rpm or less than 700rpm. The fault is judged if the abnormality continues for 5 seconds.
Likely causes
- Heat pump error triggering backup heat source requirement
- Water pump speed below 700 rpm
- Water pump speed above 6000 rpm
- Pump mechanical fault or blockage
- Air in water circuit affecting pump speed
- Pump feedback signal fault
- Operation stop due to short circuit inside the water pump motor winding.
- Operation stop due to breaking of wire inside the water pump motor.
- Operation stop due to water pump motor IPM malfunction.
- Operation error due to faulty indoor unit PCB.
- Excessive water inlet temperature due to system fault or high tank temperature
- Zone 1 water temperature continuously ≥75°C for 5 minutes
- Vacuum pump oil backflow into charge hoses without proper prevention
- Removing refrigerant pipes while compressor is running and valve is open
Where to start
- Confirm Force heater request ON by user OR auto turn ON by remote controller during error
- Check latest mode selection sent by remote controller (heat/cool/tank)
- Observe pump speed trace against low limit line during detect time period

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
