Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP R32 fault F23
Output over current detection
Heat pumpWhat it means
During operation of cooling and heating, when outdoor DC current above 53 A is detected by the IPM DC Peak sensing circuitry in the outdoor unit PCB (main).
Likely causes
- Current to IPM exceeding set value
- Repeated short-cycle restarts due to persistent overcurrent condition
- Possible IPM or compressor electrical fault
- Faulty outdoor unit PCB (main)
- Faulty compressor
Where to start
- Connect tester negative terminal to power transistor (+), positive terminal to UVW - check resistance
- Check IPM current against set value
- Monitor restart timing pattern (30 second vs within 30 second recurrence)

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
