Panasonic Aquarea T-CAP R32 fault F41
Power factor correction (PFC) abnormality
Heat pumpWhat it means
During operation of cooling and heating, the PFC protection circuitry in the outdoor unit PCB (main) senses abnormal high DC voltage level.
Likely causes
- Voltage at PFC abnormal
- Power supply surge
- Compressor windings not uniform
- Faulty outdoor unit PCB (main)
Where to start
- Check voltage at PFC
- Check the supply voltage. If not as specified, correct the power supply.
- If supply voltage is as specified, operate the system and verify PFC abnormality by measuring the DC voltage between DCP-OUT and DCN-OUT of the outdoor unit PCB (main).

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
