LG Therma V fault 14

Problem in flow rate

Heat pump

What it means

Error (serious fail - system cannot be used before repair). Low flow detection during pump operation.

Likely causes

  1. Low flow detection during pump operation
  2. Water is not enough or there can be water leakage inside water circuit
  3. Flow sensor is electrically open
  4. Water pump is in trouble

Where to start

  1. Step 1: System stopped while operation - begin diagnosis
  2. Step 2: Check pressure gauge reads 1.5~2.0 bar - if NO, investigate water charge/leakage (branch A)
  3. Step 3: If pressure OK, check water pump still running (vibration test at terminal box, or 'Water Pump Operating' on control panel) - if NO, investigate flow sensor (branch B)

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
