LG Therma V fault CH01

Room air temperature sensor fault

Heat pump

What it means

Fault relating to the Indoor Unit Air Temperature Sensor connected at CN_ROOM. Indicates sensor open/short or out-of-range resistance/voltage reading.

Likely causes

  1. Sensor mismatch on the Main PCB (Indoor, Outdoor)
  2. Main PCB (Indoor, Outdoor) defect
  3. Sensor failure (Reason of major defect)
  4. Temperature sensor maximum reached
  5. Sensor open or short circuit
  6. Connector disconnected or damaged
  7. Sensor out of specification resistance

Where to start

  1. Is the sensor correctly connected to the main PCB (indoor)? If No, re-attach the sensor to the main PCB.
  2. Is the Thermistor installed in the correct location? Check the Thermistor is removed or mis-inserted. If No, place the thermistor in the correct position.
  3. Is the sensor connector pin missing or is the sensor wire damaged? If No (i.e. damaged/missing), replace the sensor.

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
