LG Therma V fault CH08
DHW tank temperature sensor fault
Heat pumpWhat it means
Fault relating to the DHW Tank Temperature Sensor connected at CN_TH4. Indicates sensor open/short or out-of-range resistance/voltage reading.
Likely causes
- Sensor mismatch on the Main PCB (Indoor, Outdoor)
- Main PCB (Indoor, Outdoor) defect
- Sensor failure (Reason of major defect)
- Temperature sensor maximum reached
- Sensor open or short circuit
- Connector disconnected or damaged
- Sensor out of specification resistance
Where to start
- Is the sensor correctly connected to the main PCB (indoor)? If No, re-attach the sensor to the main PCB.
- Is the Thermistor installed in the correct location? Check the Thermistor is removed or mis-inserted. If No, place the thermistor in the correct position.
- Is the sensor connector pin missing or is the sensor wire damaged? If No, replace the sensor.

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
