LG Therma V fault CH09
PCB program (EEPROM) fault
Heat pumpWhat it means
A defect occurred in the optional EEPROM connected to the Main PCB(Indoor). If the EEPROM value and the Program value do not match, the code is displayed.
Likely causes
- Optional EEPROM is loosely inserted or removed
- Optional EEPROM burnout
Where to start
- Check if the Option PCB is correctly plugged into Main PCB(Indoor). If No, re-insert the Option PCB.
- If Option PCB is correctly plugged, check if the EEPROM is in a normal state (no dents, burn marks, or other visible defects on the exterior). If No, replace the EEPROM.
- If EEPROM is in normal state, check if the EEPROM insertion direction is correct (check groove direction). If No, change the direction of EEPROM.

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
From the LG manual for the Therma V. Check the model on the data plate before you order parts.
