Baxi Baxi 200/400/600/800 Combi 2 & System 2 Baxi 600/800/Assure System 2 and 600 Combi 2 platform fault E.04.14
Temperature difference between set point and burner varies more than 60s compared to...
Gas boilerWhat it means
Permanent fault requiring reset, indicating the temperature difference between the setpoint and the burner deviates from expected timing relative to the GVC (gas valve calibration) configuration for more than 60 seconds.
Likely causes
- Faulty or unsound burner seals
- Faulty or unsound internal flue seals
- Faulty or unsound door or case seals
- Incorrect gas valve setup or combustion calibration
- Burner surface cracks or damage
- Worn burner flange gasket
- Front insulation panel cracked, damaged, moist, aged or deformed
- Dust/dirt residue accumulation in combustion chamber
Where to start
- With boiler still operating at maximum rate, insert the analyser probe into the flue gas test point, allow reading to stabilise
- Check if CO < 350ppm and CO/CO2 ratio < 0.004
- If not within range, verify integrity of seals: check all burner seals, internal flue seals, door & case seals, replace any unsound seals

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
