Ideal Logic System IE fault L1
Flow temperature overheat lockout or no water flow lockout
Gas boilerWhat it means
Lockout triggered by flow temperature overheat condition or lack of water flow through the boiler.
Likely causes
- Pump not rotating freely
- No water flow
Where to start
- Check if boiler and CH system are filled with water and all isolation/radiator valves open. If NO, fill and vent system and open all isolation valves, then restart boiler.
- If YES, check if Flow/Return Differential across the Boiler is in excess of 30°C. If YES, check that the pump is rotating freely.
- Check if differential is now below 20°C after checking pump. If NO, replace the pump then restart boiler. If YES, OK, restart boiler.

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
