Grant Aerona R290 fault P04

Condenser temperature overheat protection

Heat pump

What it means

Condenser temperature overheat protection triggered due to insufficient airflow, dirty condenser, or faulty sensor.

Likely causes

  1. Airflow of outdoor fan is insufficient
  2. Condenser is too dirty
  3. The temperature sensor (T3) is faulty
  4. Outdoor air temperature (T4) below 7°C combined with low return (TA) or flow (TB) water temperature below 6°C

Where to start

  1. Check whether there is any obstacle which is preventing the airflow
  2. Check whether the condenser pipe temperature sensor (T3) seems in normal condition
  3. Check ambient temperature sensor (T4) reading

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
