Worcester Bosch Greenstar 4000 System fault 358

Anti-seizing function active

Gas boiler

What it means

Operating message, not a fault. Blocking protection for the heating pump and diverter valve active. Component kick ensures hydraulic components such as pumps do not get stuck by briefly turning them on after a period of inactivity. After power up every 24 hours the appliance performs a component kick where the pump runs for 10 seconds. If the appliance is in a CH or DHW heat request, these are prioritised over component kick; once the heat demand ends, component kick takes place.

Likely causes

  1. Scheduled 24-hour anti-seize/component kick cycle
  2. Incorrectly set pump rate or pump characteristic map

Where to start

  1. Set the pump rate or pump characteristic map correctly and match to the maximum output
  2. Navigate to Info menu to view Current status
  3. Check Boiler submenu for Max. heat output, Actual temp., Set flow temp., HEx temperature, Act. burner mod., Burner output, Ionisation current, Pump mod., Outside temp., Burner starts, Hours run, System pressure

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
