Primary heat-exchanger cleaning fault

Gas boiler

What it means

The boiler has an auto-diagnostic system which, based on the total number of hours in certain operating conditions, signals the need to clean the primary heat exchanger. The fault occurs when the flue gas probe hour meter exceeds 2500 hours.

Likely causes

  1. Accumulated operating hours exceeding 2500h threshold on flue gas probe hour meter
  2. Primary heat exchanger requiring cleaning

Where to start

  1. Access the 'System Info' menu to display the value of the flue gas probe meter (display/100, example 2500h = 25)
  2. Navigate to Configuration menu
  3. Select 'Exhaust probe reset'
