Cross flow of hot and cold water into system

Hot and cold water are cross-flowing into each other's supply lines within the system.
Likely causes
- Dirt/debris in check valves
- Other draw-offs between take-off point and shower causing unstable flow/temperature
- Hot/cold connections made after draw-off points to other outlets (washing machine, taps)
- Pipework rising above cistern water level causing air locks

Safety: Isolate at the double pole isolator and the consumer unit, and prove dead before the cover comes off. Electrical work to BS 7671 (UK) or I.S. 10101 (Ireland).
