Water too cold
Electric showerWhat it means
Shower output water temperature is too cold.
Likely causes
- Hot inlet filter blocked or check valve sticking
- Not enough hot water flowing through shower
- Pipework rising above cistern water level causing air locks
- Decrease in ambient cold water temperature
- No hot water in the storage cylinder
- Hot water supply blocked or otherwise cut off
Where to start
- Inspect hot inlet filter and check valve
- Check hot water flow rate through shower
- Remove single retaining screw from centre of filter cap (fig.30)

Safety: Isolate at the double pole isolator and the consumer unit, and prove dead before the cover comes off. Electrical work to BS 7671 (UK) or I.S. 10101 (Ireland).
