Intergas HRE / Rapid / ECO RF fault 4
No flame signal
Gas boilerWhat it means
The boiler controller has detected no flame signal during ignition attempt.
Likely causes
- Burner fails to ignite after multiple attempts
- Gas isolation valve closed, no gas at meter
- No or incorrect ignition gap
- Faulty burner
- Earth fault
- Gas supply pressure too low, faulty governor at gas meter
- Gas valve or ignition module not powered
- Boiler controller (PCB) fault
- Gas tap closed
- Air in gas pipe
- No ignition / worn ignition electrode
- No spark / faulty ignition unit on gas valve
- Gas/air adjustment not correctly set
- Fan faulty
- Fan dirty
- Gas valve faulty
- Gas supply pressure too high
- Incorrect ignition gap
- Weak spark
- A different gas type is connected to the appliance than the one it was factory-set for
Where to start
- Observe number of ignition attempts (up to 4) before fault mode is triggered
- Check gas isolation valve is open and gas is present at meter
- If pressure OK, check ignition gap - replace ignition pin, check ignition electrode gap

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
