Intergas HRE / Rapid / ECO RF fault 2

S1 and S2 interchanged

Gas boiler

What it means

The boiler controller has detected that sensors S1 and S2 are connected in swapped/incorrect positions.

Likely causes

  1. S1 or S2 sensor fault
  2. Burner not firing on CH due to sensor S1 or S2 fault

Where to start

  1. Check room thermostat / weather-dependent adjustment - check wiring, replace thermostat or weather-dependent adjustment if faulty
  2. If OK, check for current (24V) - check wiring against diagram, check connector X4, replace faulty manager
  3. If current present, check if pump is running - check power supply, check connector X2, replace faulty pump

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
