Ideal Logic fault L2
Ignition lockout
Gas boilerWhat it means
Boiler fails to ignite or ignites briefly then extinguishes
Likely causes
- Gas pressure below 18 mbar at boiler inlet
- Detection electrode fault or contamination
- Condensate pipe blocked
- Flue installed incorrectly
- Spark generator fault
- Ignition electrode fault
- Gas valve fault
- Pump not wired to boiler
Where to start
- Check gas pressure at boiler inlet (minimum 18 mbar)
- Inspect detection electrode for continuity, visual condition and position
- Check condensate pipe for blockage

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
