Grundfos STP 2 fault 9

Pompa gürültülü çalışıyor (universal head pumps)

Shower pump

What it means

Pump running noisily on universal head pumps.

Likely causes

  1. Pompanın montaj yüzeyinde titreşim var
  2. Hot-water supply taken directly from top of hot-water cylinder
  3. Entrapped air causing airlocks in supply pipe
  4. Air not thoroughly purged from system
  5. Undersized tank causing insufficient supply
  6. Incorrect outlet height causing hot-water-only delivery
  7. Outlet positioned below mains inlet causing air ingress
  8. Non-return valve fitted incorrectly in inlet pipe causing restricted flow or pump damage
  9. Undersized pipework
  10. Pipes routed under floor causing air traps
  11. Other outlets fitted in inlet pipes
  12. Shared (non-dedicated) hot/cold supplies
  13. Blanked-off pipes
  14. Restrictions in flexible hoses
  15. Unsecured pipework
  16. Leak in system
  17. Drip in system
  18. Air trapped in pump
  19. Non-return valve incorrectly fitted in inlet pipe
  20. Direct mains connection causing pressure issues or pump damage
  21. Jointing compounds/tape causing blockage or leaks
  22. Shared supply pipe causing air ingress or reduced flow
  23. Missing surrey flange causing air in hot water supply
  24. Mechanical stress on pump from rigid pipe connection
  25. Leaks from use of jointing compound instead of correct hose connections
  26. Leak causing loss of tank air pressure
  27. Leaks due to under-tightened or incorrectly connected hoses
  28. Mechanical strain on pump from misaligned pipework
  29. Leaks due to insufficient hose insertion depth
  30. Blocked strainers common on initial pump installation or new buildings due to jointing compounds, tapes, flux and debris flushed through system
  31. Debris ingress into pump causing blockage or damage if strainer omitted
  32. Low flow rates from cistern filling causing frequent pump cycling
  33. Solder joint heat damaging plastic pump components
  34. Air pockets from incorrectly routed pipework
  35. Restricted or kinked flexible hoses
  36. Additional outlet fittings on inlet pipework causing incorrect flow switch operation

Where to start

  1. Check hot-water supply connection point on cylinder
  2. Inspect for airlocks in supply pipe
  3. Purge all air from system
