Joule Victorum fault 80

No temp diff across condensor

Heat pump

What it means

No temperature differential detected across the condenser. This is a temporary blocking fault - the Heat Pump automatically restarts after 1 hour.

Likely causes

  1. Circulating pump not operating correctly
  2. Air in the system
  3. Drain hose incorrectly inserted below siphon water level
  4. Drain hose not mounted freely with an air gap
  5. Blocked drain causing water back-flow into appliance
  6. By-pass valve incorrectly set
  7. Zone valve not fully open causing dead heading
  8. Debris accumulation in filter/strainer reducing flow rate
  9. Long pipe runs to draw-off points on larger installations
  10. Air trapped in pipework causing restricted flow
  11. Kitchen ceiling valve installed too close to kitchen extractor fan
  12. Incorrect purging if fill & flush valve installed before all connections made
  13. Trapped air in heat pump and/or open circuit
  14. Incorrect valve connection causing improper flow direction

Where to start

  1. Check circulating pump operation
  2. Check for possible air in the system
  3. Verify the end of the drain hose does not protrude below the water level of the siphon

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
