Grant Euroflame fault 2

Burner pulses

Oil boiler

What it means

Boiler works but the burner pulses during operation, indicating combustion instability.

Likely causes

  1. Insufficient air supply
  2. Faulty or worn fan
  3. Inadequate room ventilation
  4. Incorrect nozzle size or type fitted for required boiler output
  5. Motor/pump fault
  6. Electrode/ignition fault
  7. Control box fault
  8. Oil pump fault
  9. Solenoid valve/coil fault
  10. Nozzle/fuel contamination
  11. Combustion air/head setting fault
  12. Photocell fault
  13. Balanced flue recirculation
  14. Boiler or flue blockage
  15. Incorrect diffuser position causing poor flame pattern or combustion issues
  16. Debris, leaves, hair, fluff accumulation on fan impeller or housing
  17. Debris, leaves, hair, fluff accumulation blocking air inlet
  18. Worn or damaged nozzle causing poor combustion

Where to start

  1. Check the air damper setting and the condition of the fan
  2. Check room ventilation is adequate, see Section 9.1
