Joule Modul Air fault 20

Filter reached end of lifespan

Heat pump

What it means

The air filter has reached the end of its usable lifespan. The heat pump continues to operate but may run less efficiently.

Likely causes

  1. Filter lifespan expired due to normal usage/clogging
  2. Missing or inadequate insulation on exhaust duct
  3. Uninsulated joints, transitions, air bricks or roof cowls
  4. System debris blocking filter/strainer reducing flow rate

Where to start

  1. On systems with sensors, confirm unit is set to 'Auto' mode at all times
  2. On systems without sensors, confirm unit is left on 'Home' setting during normal operation (standard trickle flow for Heat Pump)
  3. Verify RF receiver correctly translates CO2/Humidity sensor signals into 0-10V voltage

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
