Grant Aerona R32 fault A1

Discharge temperature error

Heat pump

What it means

Discharge temperature sensor error or gas leakage causing abnormal discharge temperature reading.

Likely causes

  1. Faulty discharge temperature sensor
  2. Gas leakage in refrigerant circuit
  3. Thermal store set point reached (normal stop)
  4. Outgoing water temperature reaching protection limit (abnormal/protective stop)
  5. Low outdoor ambient air temperature
  6. Low flow water temperature

Where to start

  1. Check the resistance of Sensor, Temp. Discharge by tester
  2. Check the service valve and refrigerant circuit (pipe)
  3. Check thermal store temperature against thermal store set point (parameter 2161)

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
