Glow-worm Flexicom fault F1
Boiler has attempted to light 5 times and failed on all occasions
Gas boilerWhat it means
Boiler failed to achieve ignition after 5 attempts, resulting in lockout.
Likely causes
- Air in the gas supply line
- Gas tap is closed
- Gas valve connector is loose, unconnected, faulty, or wires are trapped
- Ignitor connectors are loose, unconnected, faulty, trapped
- Faulty ignitor
- Low gas inlet pressure
- Incorrect gas valve adjustment
- Electrode ignition leads loose, unconnected, faulty, trapped
- Electrode broken, defective, or position incorrect
- Air inlet blocked, flue inlet blocked, flue duct leaking
- Earthing connection loose, disconnected
- Condensate blocked
- Flue components not correctly assembled, fixed or supported
- Flue or flue terminal obstructed
- Faulty seals around appliance burner, internal flue seals, door and case seals
- Incorrect gas type or supply pressure/rate not checked prior to commissioning
- Analyser not zeroed/calibrated correctly in fresh air prior to use
Where to start
- Remove front casing door and lower control box before initial lighting
- Initially run the appliance pump to ensure all air has been vented from system (observe auto air vent operation if possible)
- Check that all external controls are calling for heat

Safety: Isolate gas and power before you open the case. If you have been into the gas side, do a tightness test, and a combustion and flue check before you hand back. Gas Safe (UK) or RGI (Ireland) work only.
