Daikin Altherma fault C0-00

Flow sensor malfunction

Heat pump

What it means

Water flow sensor detects water flow 45 seconds after the water pump has stopped, indicating a flow measurement anomaly.

Likely causes

  1. Water flow is too low
  2. Air in the water circuit
  3. The detected water flow is caused by an external source of vibration (floor standing and bizone units only)
  4. Faulty water flow sensor
  5. Faulty refrigerant pressure sensor
  6. Poor water flow through high pressure side plate heat exchanger
  7. Incorrect refrigerant charge
  8. Wrong setting of [F-0D] pump operation
  9. Dirty water blocking the water filter
  10. NOT enough air purged from the system
  11. Air was purged from the water circuit after filling
  12. Water pump software control behaviour based on setting [F-0D]

Where to start

  1. Check the water flow
  2. Check the water circuit for an external pump
  3. Perform an electrical check of the water flow sensor

Safety: Isolate the outdoor unit and any backup heater, and give the inverter capacitors time to discharge before you open the electrics. Anything on the refrigerant circuit needs F-gas certification.
